New Look by Dior

On February 12, 1947, Christian Dior launched his first collection for Spring-Summer 1947. The collection was called  "Corolla", but it is known as ''New Look" it was named by an American magazine editor. I think this is the most amazing thing in the whole fashion history, Dior made the women feels like a flower after the  WWII. The collection was very well done, the full skirt, the large bust and the small waist.

Makanism is A New York and San Francisco based, housing film, animation, digital content and production studio. Mekanism has developed award winning campaigns. Their web site is very inspirational and very funny.

Twitter

Twitter has become on of the most popular social networks around the World Wide Web. It is a website that  asks the question "What are you doing?" where the answer can't be more than 140 characters in length. Answers can be sent through the web, instant message, or mobile texting. It makes it easier for people to connect and know what others are doing. It was a simple idea by Jack Dorsey where he wanted to be able to know what his friends were doing. Twitter was lunched publocly in August of 2006. The service grew popular really quickly. It has been joined by many famous people, such as, Kim Kardashian, the Backstreey boys,Karl Lagerfeld, Paris Hilton, and Oprah Winfrey. It is a very interesting website that keeps people communicated to others locally and internationally.

Complete Color Harmony Workbook

An amazing book i just bought lately, very helpful specially for anyone who works with colours. The book is by the author Kiki Eldridge who is a graphic designer and writer. The book gives the readers colour inspiration, tear-out color swatches, colour advice and information. I think it is helpful and very useful reference for anyone working with colours.

Nadine Chahine

Nadine Chahine is a talented  Arabic typography designer, from Lebanon. She studied Graphic Design at the American University of Beirut and MA in Typeface Design at the University of Reading, UK. As a visiting lecturer at the American University in Dubai and at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, She taught Arabic type design. I love her designs, and i am proud that we have such talented arabic type designer.

The Notebook

The note book, is great love story, it is one of my favorite movies of all time. The movie is based on a novel written by Nicholas Sparks. It is about a poor young man falls in love with a rich young woman and gives her a sense of love and freedom, but they are separated because of their social differences.

Child Labour

Campaign to create more awareness around child labour, launched by World Vision, in Amsterdam. The agency Ogilvy presented a life size adhesive of children at automatic revolving doors. An amazing and strong idea, that is well delivered.

Underwater by Erin Mulvehill

Underwater is a Series of photographs taken by, Erin Mulvehill. Unlike the underwater i have posted before by Alix Malka, these photographs are lacking colours, which makes them very different from all underwater photograph i have seen before.
